Animal Harbor is a limited-admission animal shelter facility serving Franklin County, Tennessee. It is operated by members of The Franklin County Humane Society, a private non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

History

Animal Harbor first opened its doors in February of 2003. It was the first animal shelter in Franklin County and was located in a former hog auction barn on David Crockett Hwy, outside of Belvidere, TN. 

On December 12, 2014, operations began in the current facility, which had been newly built.

Animal Harbor is located at 56 Nor-Nan Road, Winchester, TN. This is just off AEDC Road (Hwy 127). Click here for map.

Tuesday-Friday: Noon - 5:00 pm  Saturday: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Adoptions can be finalized daily until 4:00 pm

No intakes on Saturday unless by appointment

The Mission of Animal Harbor is to

  • Provide health care and temporary shelter for lost and homeless companion animals;
  • Find new loving homes for these pets;
  • Reduce pet overpopulation by promoting spaying and neutering;
  • Prevent cruelty to animals;
  • Educate the community about animal welfare;
  • Maintain a no kill policy except for reasons of mercy or dangerous temperament.
